ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join Wayne Robertson on a one to one or group workshop tailored to your requirements. Photographing wildlife is a wonderful experience but it is not always easy to achieve the results that you hope for. Different subjects and situations can require vastly different techniques and camera settings. Receive tuition (as much or as little as you need) to help improve your wildlife photography and go home with some beautiful photographs and the knowledge you need to continue progressing your skills and enjoyment of wildlife photography. One to one and small group workshops provide the ideal learning environment and can cover the information and skills that are important to you. The workshop can include topics such as:

  • Pre-workshop communication via e-mail

  • Learn how to visualise and create a great wildlife photograph

  • Gain information on how to create effective compositions based on subject and situation

  • Considering how to show motion in wildlife photography

  • Understand different types of light and how they apply to wildlife photography

  • Discussion on achieving the correct exposure using aperture, shutter speed and ISO and your camera’s tools

  • Learn how to photograph birds in flight

  • Using different techniques to increase creativity

  • Receive guidance on camera settings as necessary

  • The opportunity to receive assistance on topics you would like help with

  • Post-workshop opportunity to share images, discuss editing and receive feedback from Wayne Robertson

  • The workshop will be led in a manner which is mindful of the locations we visit and will aim to leave each area as we find it. Great care will be taken not to disturb or affect the wildlife that we are photographing.

WHY COME ON ONE OF MY WORKSHOPS?

I have had an almost lifelong interest in photography. Keen to learn more I have spent considerable time practicing and studying photography and I have studied a number of photography courses and gained diplomas for my efforts. I have always lived in Scotland and relatively close to the areas in which I host my workshops. Throughout my life I have explored these areas countless times and I know the areas very well, I am passionate about them, love spending time in them, and have taken many images of these landscapes and the wildlife within them. I have a genuine love for photography and wildlife and I enjoy helping others improve and gain more fulfilment from their landscape and wildlife photography. I create videos for my YouTube channel so feel free to watch here to get a glimpse of my approach to photography and browse my website to see some of the images I have captured. You can read what PetaPixel said about one of my videos and the quality of my photography work here.

FEEDBACK FROM MY WILDLIFE WORKSHOPS

“I wanted to thank you for giving Colin his amazing workshop yesterday. He came home buzzing! You tailored it perfectly for him. Many thanks.” - A. Schwab

“I recently had the pleasure of attending Wayne's Wildlife Photography Workshop, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Wayne's passion for wildlife photography was evident. His knowledge and enthusiasm were contagious, making it not only educational but also incredibly engaging. The workshop was tailored specifically to what I wanted to learn, and I noticed an improvement in my photography skills even within the duration of the session. Highly recommended and look forward to booking again!” - A. Barr

“I wanted to learn some skills ahead of a holiday where we hope to see and photograph wildlife, and the wildlife photography workshop with Wayne has been invaluable for me. Wayne has taught me so much about camera technique, composition, and how to control the camera, depending on the subject and lighting, and I feel inspired and more confident after the workshop.” - C. Tiltman

“Had a brilliant day on a wildlife workshop with Wayne. Wayne has been extremely helpful from the start, with lots of email communication beforehand to organise the day to suit our needs. He is clearly very knowledgeable about the wildlife, lighting, and vantage points at his locations and was very generous with sharing tips and guidance with us. I came away with some great shots but also new knowledge, memories of wonderful wildlife sightings and, most importantly, inspiration and motivation to get out with my camera.” - L. McLaren

“You provided us with numerous opportunities for photographs of a wide range of subjects accompanied with both specific photographic advice and a wider informed commentary. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with you - and came home with some photographs with which I am very happy. Thank you very much.” - J. McKay
